You have to give credit where credit is due...
Is Beyonce Knowles about to find that out the hard way?
The pop diva has reportedly been slapped with a lawsuit by British singer Des'ree, TMZ reports.
The lawsuit - filed in a Manhattan Federal Court yesterday - claims Beyonce covered Des'ree's song I'm Kissing You, without proper clearance.
Des'ree and her reps also claim they tried to work out a deal with the singer and her managers for the song to be used.
However, Beyonce allegedly blew-off the proposal and recorded the song and video without permission.
The song was then released on Beyonce's latest album B'Day, titled Still in Love (Kissing You).
Both Beyonce and Des'ree couldn't be reached for comment, but it's reported Des'ree is seeking a $150,000 in damages...
She's also hoping to stop the distribution and sale of the song.
